Global Aviation & Environment Summit – a week away

AESbanner.gif

This blog has been fairly quiet over the past few weeks as we have been busy preparing for the 4th Aviation & Environment Summit – the only global summit of aviation environment leaders. At the third summit, last year, industry leaders signed a declaration committing the industry to a pathway towards carbon neutral growth, the first such global agreement by the industry on how to reduce our climate change impact.

This year, we will report on progress towards that goal and highlight the effect the Declaration has had on the industy – particularly when it comes to coordinated action. This will be done through expert panels and speakers in two major workstreams: driving aviation efficiency and harnessing the potential of alternative fuels.

We have an impressive line-up of speakers and panellists from the industry, academic research institutes, environmental and sustainable development NGO’s, technology providers, fuel and biofuel development organisations and governments.

The Aviation & Environment Summit is taking place in Geneva on 31 March and 1 April. Registration for the event is still open, but we will be providing live coverage of the Summit on this blog from the afternoon of 30 March, with clips of presentations and special reports on YouTube throughout the event. Stay tuned!
